MS Dhoni is arguably one of the best captains the game of cricket has ever witnessed. He led Team India to three major ICC titles – the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy. As a result, he is one of the most loved cricketers for many around the globe. Despite retiring from international cricket in 2020, Dhoni still has a huge amount of following of his fans.
Dhoni is the only captain to lead the Indian team to win three ICC major tournament titles. Recently, he also led the Chennai Super Kings to win the IPL 2023 title with a win against the Gujarat Titans in the final. (Who Is Fake Mr Bean? Recently, CSK’s chief executive, Kasi Viswanathan revealed a shocking piece of news about MS Dhoni’s knee injury. Viswanathan revealed that Dhoni played with a knee strap on during the whole IPL 2023 campaign for the Chennai Super Kings and never complained about it.
“We never asked him things like ‘do you want to play or do you want to sit out.’ If he can’t, he would’ve told us straightaway. We knew it was a struggle for him to play, but his commitment to the team, his leadership and how the team benefits everyone knows. From that perspective, you have to appreciate him,” said Viswanathan.
The fans could see him walk in and out of the team bus, limping. But Dhoni never complained about the injury ever to anyone in the CSK camp. In fact, the topic of injury came up during the course of the tournament.
In the end, Dhoni was delighted with the love he received in this year’s edition of the IPL and after the final he said he cannot retire now even after winning the title once again with CSK. Dhoni said he will try to play next year as well but it is difficult for him.
