The Assembly polls result of the seven constituencies in six states where the by-election was held was seen as a litmus test for the opposition alliance INDIA against the BJP-led NDA ahead of the assembly polls in five states later this year and the 2023 Lok Sabha election.

According to the information shared by the Election Commission, BJP maintains hold in Bageshwar and wrests Boxanagar from CPM whereas the INDIA bloc registers win in UP, Jharkhand, Kerala and West Bengal.

On September 5, high voter turnout was recorded in most of the seven constituencies in six states.
