Star Indian tennis player, Sania Mirza, is set to retire from international tennis after the Australian Open 2023. Earlier, Sania had announced that she would be retiring after WTA 1000 Dubai Tennis Championships which gets underway on February 19. The 36-year-old Mirza had planned to put up her racket at the conclusion of the 2018 season, but an elbow ailment forced her to retire as early as August and prevented her from competing in the US Open. Mirza, a six-time major champion—three in doubles and three in mixed doubles—has committed to competing alongside Anna Danilina of Kazakhstan at this month’s Australian Open.
