Coromandel Express met with an accident in Odisha’s Balasore today
New Delhi:
A passenger train collided with a freight train in Odisha’s Balasore district this evening. Many are feared trapped. Some injured people were taken to hospitals.
Balasore Medical College has received 10 injured people.
Rescue teams have reached the site where the Coromandel Express collided with the freight train.
Visuals of the train accident site shows four derailed coaches.
The train was going from Kolkata to Chennai.
Odisha Fire Services chief Sudhanshu Sarangi is supervising rescue operations, reports said. Medical colleges and hospitals in and around Balasore have been alerted.
Three units of the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) and four units of its state counterpart, along with 60 ambulances have been sent.
