NEW DELHI: CPI general secretary D Raja on Thursday downplayed the alleged crack in the INDIA bloc, saying that it should not be blown up. He, however, added that there might be some difficulties but those would be ironed out by top leadership of parties that have come together to defeat the BJP.
“All democratic and secular parties want to fight and defeat the BJP now. But in some states such as Kerala and West Bengal, there can be some difficulties that we may have to confront. All parties are working together. They are aware of the fact. There is no need to blow up (this issue),” said Raja at the press meet held to brief about the decisions of CPI’s recent national executive meeting.
He was responding to the questions pertaining to the decision of CPI-Marxist (CPIM) not to send its nominee to the INDIA’s coordination committee. The CPIM, despite agreeing to set up sub-committees for coordination, has not named any of its leaders for the panel.
